Ultra-low temperature air coolers are advanced industrial cooling units developed by our company through continuous research and innovation based on existing refrigeration technology. Many industrial processes or storage requirements demand ultra-low temperature environments. For example, pharmaceutical degreasing rooms, edible fungus cultivation, agricultural seed storage and breeding, certain processes in photographic paper and tea factories, as well as the storage of sensitive equipment, recording tapes, historical documents, and medical supplies all require specialized low-temperature air conditioning systems. These environments differ significantly from conventional comfort or process air conditioning, as well as standard cold storage facilities. Therefore, designing low-temperature environments with specific temperature and humidity control requirements involves special considerations. The fresh air intake can reach as low as -30°C, while the recirculated air can drop to -50°C. The cold air discharged from the outlet returns to the unit through the circulation system, forming a closed-loop return air system. This installation method is referred to as recirculated air, with discharge temperatures as low as -50°C.

The ultra-low temperature air cooler differs from ordinary air cabinets and conventional coolers. It is a specialized refrigeration device designed with precision engineering, utilizing compressors and manufactured under strict quality control. As a result, it offers advantages such as an aesthetically pleasing appearance, compact size, excellent performance, and reliable quality. The outlet can be configured for upward or side airflow (specific outlet positions can be customized according to user requirements).

II. Applications of Ultra-Low Temperature Air Coolers

These units are commonly used in production line cooling, crushing industries, workpiece cooling, low-temperature cooling for soap manufacturing, spray coating industries, powder coatings, aircraft and high-speed rail component manufacturing, casting, chemical industries, home appliance production, and food processing. They can also be employed for workshop cooling, offering rapid temperature reduction, ventilation, air exchange, odor removal, dust prevention, and heat protection. Key advantages include improved worker efficiency, reduced investment, quick installation, and ease of maintenance. During normal operation, the unit automatically shuts off when the temperature reaches the desired level and restarts when the temperature rises above the set point.

III. Working Principle

Based on the principles of refrigeration systems, low-pressure liquid refrigerant undergoes heat exchange with surrounding water in the evaporator. The evaporator absorbs heat from the water, causing the refrigerant to evaporate into a low-pressure gaseous state while maintaining a constant temperature. This low-pressure gaseous refrigerant then enters the compressor, where it is compressed into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas. It subsequently moves to the condenser, where it exchanges heat with the indoor medium. Part of the heat from the high-pressure gas is absorbed by the medium, raising its temperature, while the refrigerant condenses into a high-pressure liquid at a constant temperature. The refrigerant then passes through an expansion valve, where it undergoes throttling—a rapid cooling process—transforming into a low-pressure liquid. This refrigerant re-enters the evaporator for heat exchange and evaporation, completing the refrigeration cycle. This continuous cycle ensures consistent cooling. The cooled air is then delivered to the target area via the fan and air cooling system.

IV. System Types of Ultra-Low Temperature Air Coolers: The system primarily comes in two forms: all-air systems and fan coil systems. All-air systems can use refrigerated low-temperature air or surface coolers that utilize low-temperature chilled water or glycol solution as the cooling medium. It is crucial to avoid using natural convection cooling coils (mounted on ceilings or walls) as terminal devices, as condensation or melted frost from these coils can drip onto the floor, contaminating the air-conditioned space.

If the cooling medium temperature in a low-temperature air conditioning system is below 0°C, the finned tubes in the surface cooler or fan coil should not use conventional fin spacing (typically 2–2.5 mm). Such narrow spacing can lead to frost accumulation, reducing cooling capacity and obstructing airflow. Instead, wide fin spacing should be used: 6–8 mm for low humidity loads and ≥12 mm for high humidity loads.

VI. Features of Ultra-Low Temperature Air Coolers

Paired with the condenser fan, it delivers high airflow, low noise, and effective performance.

4. The structure uses a combined sheet metal design for easy maintenance and internal cleaning. Based on the condenser fan's airflow direction, heat dissipation holes are scientifically punched into the sheet metal, enhancing both散热 (heat dissipation) and aesthetics.
